The race

The oldest BTT stage race in Spain.

The 20th anniversary of the VolCAT has arrived. The classic stage race continues to be internationally recognised in the Mountain Bike calendar. On 30 and 31 March, a new edition of the VolCAT will take place in Igualada, its usual venue for the last few years.

The stage race par excellence. 2 MTB stages with the best specialists on the planet. In addition, this year contains a format change with a UCI C3 category. This will bring many world stars to Igualada. Not to mention the amateur challenge of completing all four courses and becoming a finisher of the classic stage race.

As is tradition, the stage race will take place during the Easter holidays, making it the ideal plan for a holiday with friends or family. Participants of more than 20 nationalities from all over the world and practically all communities of Spain do not miss this iconic event of the international Mountain Bike stage race calendar.

Don’t miss the opportunity to feel proud to be a finisher of an internationally prestigious event, individually or in pairs.

Igualada, centre of the VolCAT

The adoption of Igualada (Barcelona) as the central venue for the race has also taken the VolCAT by Continental to another level. On the one hand, by facilitating logistics, and on the other, by allowing the organisation to work on the routes year after year, constantly maintaining the trails, looking for new alternatives, and polishing, little by little, stages that only improve year after year. Its design has a clear premise: to offer the most fun MTB. To give prominence to those trails that can be enjoyed by the best runners on the planet and bikers facing their first multi-day race.

The VolCAT is a race for all levels, with different categories. You can compete at the PRO level, earning UCI points in the UCI C3 category. You can also compete in the OPEN modality, either in individual modality (all stages) or in pairs, in two, being a combination of two people of the same gender or mixed. At the end of the last stage, the first three pairs in each group’s final classification will stand on the podium.

The excitement of the VolCAT is more alive than ever, with new corners and places to discover in the heart of Catalonia.

Two days of competition and fun? Who would say no?
