VolCAT by SCOTT 2026: the most special edition of the MTB classic arrives in Igualada on 3 and 4 April

The 25th anniversary of Ocisport, the company that organises VolCAT, will turn these two days into a unique cycling celebration

VolCAT by SCOTT returns to the cycling calendar on 3 and 4 April in the Barcelona town of Igualada. A unique two-stage format, where both days of competition will award UCI points for the XCO world ranking. The VolCAT – one of the oldest mountain bike stage races in the world – will once again be a space where professional and international riders and mountain bike enthusiasts can enjoy the unique routes full of trails in the Anoia region.
Ocisport will be celebrating 25 years of organising sporting events. This special event will be complemented on Saturday by a gravel cycle tour, a road social ride, an Ebike outing and the usual children’s race. In addition, the organisers have a few other surprises in store, which will be announced shortly.

VolCAT will take place once again during Easter week, from 3 to 4 April. It is one of the most iconic mountain bike competitions and for more than twenty years thousands of enthusiasts have worn the VolCAT jersey. An emblem of pure mountain biking, it exploits the infinite possibilities of a territory designed for enjoying cycling.

The trails will once again be the main protagonists of three intense days. The first will be 45 kilometers long and will be a UCI XCO C3 category race, while the second will be 65 kilometers long and will also be a UCI XCO C3 category race. Participants can register for one of the two stages or for both days.

The VolCAT is defined as an event with two souls. The competitive spirit of the event shares space with the recreational aspect. Participants can therefore choose different ways to experience the race. The non-competitive VolCAT is also ready and will welcome with open arms all those who want to cycle without the pressure of competition. This is the OPEN format, ideal for those who want to experience VolCAT as an adventure, a challenge to be undertaken alone or with others.
Within the OPEN format, the challenge can be tackled solo or in DUO mode, i.e. in pairs made up of participants of the same sex or mixed pairs.

The unique cycling atmosphere will be enjoyed by all participants. Igualada’s Central Park will become the epicentre of the event. VolCAT will once again offer a motorhome area, activities for children and more special surprises.
